We’re absolutely delighted to share some exciting news; Eagle House has won Gold again at the 2026 Visit Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent Tourism Awards!

This year, we were awarded Gold in the Regenerative Tourism category, which is particularly meaningful to us. Formerly known as the Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Award, this category celebrates businesses that go beyond sustainability to actively improve their environment and community. Something that sits right at the heart of everything we do.

Even more incredibly, we were finalists in all three categories we entered, in what was the most competitive year yet. With over 150 businesses applying (a 44% increase on last year), it really was a huge achievement just to be shortlisted,

A Small Business Among Big Names

What makes this award even more special is the company we’re in. Previous winners of this category have included major destinations such as Alton Towers and Hoar Cross Hall. So to see a small, family-run business like ours recognised in the same way is something we’re incredibly proud of.

This is also our second Gold award, following our win for Guest House of the Year in 2024, and it means so much to know that the care, effort and passion we put into Eagle House is being recognised.

More Than Just a Place to Stay

If you haven’t visited us before, Eagle House is a three-room, family-run B&B in Eccleshall, set within a lovingly restored 200-year-old property.

We’ve worked hard to create something a little different. Somewhere that blends historic character with modern comfort, offering a more personal and relaxed alternative to larger hotels.

Alongside our guest rooms, we also have The Eagle’s Nest, our one-bedroom self-catering apartment, which gives guests the flexibility of their own space while still enjoying the same attention to detail and thoughtful touches we’re known for.

One of the things our guests love most is the location. Eccleshall is often described as one of Staffordshire’s hidden gems. A beautiful market town with a vibrant high street full of independent shops, cafés and restaurants.

It’s the perfect base for exploring the surrounding countryside, while still being within easy reach of wider Staffordshire attractions. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing break, a foodie getaway, or somewhere peaceful to unwind, it really does offer the best of both worlds.

Our Approach to Regeneration

Winning the regeneration award means a lot to us because it reflects the journey we’ve been on with Eagle House.

We see ourselves as custodians of a unique and historic building, and everything we do is about preserving it for the future while making it as comfortable and sustainable as possible for our guests today.

Some of the things we’ve introduced include:

Installing one of the first EV charging points for guest accommodation in the area.
Improving energy efficiency through insulation and smart heating systems.
Using locally sourced products wherever possible.
Supporting the community by offering space for local groups.
Supporting our chosen charity, Katharine House Hospice.

We’ve also spent time researching the history of the house and finding ways to share that with our guests, so they can feel connected to its story during their stay.

The awards evening itself, held at Statfold Country Park, was a fantastic celebration of everything that makes Staffordshire tourism so special.
