Diversity and Inclusion

We actively celebrate diversity in all its forms – You are welcome here!

Eagle House is proud to offer a warm welcome to all of our guests. Whatever your culture, background, age, gender identity, race, religious belief, sexual orientation, physical ability, learning ability, physical or mental health status.

All our guests are treated with respect, we aim to give everyone a comfortable stay and we enjoy hosting a diverse cross section of people.

Accessibility

Due to the layout of the building, we may not be suitable for guests with certain mobility limitations or other accessibility needs.

The building has three levels (ground, first and second floor). All of our accommodation is above the ground floor and only accessible by stairs (with a handrail on the left hand side as you ascend). Accommodation is therefore not wheel chair accessible.

Rooms one and two are on the first floor, up one flight of stairs.

Room three and the Eagle’s Nest Apartment are on the second floor, up two flights of stairs. As a result, this accommodation is not suitable for people who have disabilities or impairments that may slow their exit in the event of an emergency.

All our bedrooms have short pile carpets and have seating provided as well as surfaces on both sides of the bed, with lamps on them. All our beds are king sized.

All our Bed and Breakfast rooms and our Apartment have their own private, en-suite shower room, including a toilet and sink, with a tiled floor. Room 2 also has a roll top bath and a stool. The Apartment’s shower room contains a chair.  There are no toilet facilities for guests on the ground floor.

Our showers are walk-in with a minimal change in level. There are no handrails but a shower seat is available on request. Rubber and towel bath mats are provided.

Shower seat available on request and Eagle house B&B hotel

Room one has a single step into the shower room. Room two has 2 steps into the bathroom. There is no change of level between the bedroom and shower room in Room 3.

Room two has a bed which is higher than average height. There a stool is provided to assist in accessing it, if needed.

On request, our breakfast menu and other guest information can be provided in large print and/or described verbally.

All of our fire and carbon monoxide alarms are audible only.

All of our TVs have subtitles.

Car Parking is provided in our tarmacadam  carpark, which is located at the bottom of our garden, approximately 30 meters from the building, on a slight incline.

Access to the building entrance is through the garden (via the garden gate in the car park) on a flag stoned path. There are 4 steps up to our front door from the terrace.  The terrace and garden contain a variety of seats and tables, for guests to use. There is also a wooden decked area to the side of the building.

In icy conditions, the path from the car park to the entrance is gritted.

Once inside, the ground floor is on one level. The entrance way is a double door and a punch code (provided on check in) is needed to open it. A motion sensor light is provided above the door. The Hall way is tiled and has a large rug.

Assistance with luggage is offered to all guests on arrival and departure and we are happy to help you carry in bags from the car park on request.

All internal areas of the building have good lighting and emergency  motion sensor lighting is provided on the stairs, corridors and shower/bath rooms.

The car park, garden path and external building are illuminated in the evenings and torches are provided in each of the rooms. There is also street lighting outside the house.

The Drawing Room (available for hire separately) has a wooden floor with 2 rugs.

Mobile phone signal is very good in the house and we provide free WiFi throughout.

Our bedding contains feathers but we are happy to swap this for synthetic bedding on request prior to arrival.

For information about local transport and local area amenities, please see these areas of our website;

Eagle House has a strict no smoking policy in all its internal and external areas.

Assistance dogs are, of course, welcome.

As we are only a small establishment we do not have a staffed reception area, however, we are on site overnight and provide contact numbers for any issues or emergencies.

Our Fire Evacuation Meeting Point is in our car park and the route to it is through the main entrance door in the Grand Hall and through the garden. This is the same route Guests enter and exit the building.

We advise all potential guests to watch the videos of our building on our website or on our YouTube channel. These show the layout and facilities of all the building internally and externally.

Vegan and Vegetarian breakfast options are available on our menu and we are happy to cater for Gluten Free or other dietary requirements if requested prior to arrival.
